A Freudian Slip in BEE-ing?
By · October 25, 2009
Have you ever heard that there are no accidents? I believe that everything happens for a reason. I would add that it also happens in the exact perfect timing, like this example that happened this week.
I was doing a phone interview with one of my clients that will be sent out as a part of our launch of the BEE-ing Attraction programs and value-added materials. Before we started the interview she had questioned me about the whole subject of shifting your BEE-ing; not sure that she had it straight for herself about how that happens.
So before the recording started I began asking her to tell me about her company and how it all began. Her story is an amazing story of success, a 4-year journey that started one day as an idea that would be “nice” if anything ever developed, has now turned into a full fledged business. This business has even spun off from her other consulting firm to be a stand alone business and she is the executive partner.
I asked her to say what her BEE-ing had been when she started with the idea and that had gotten her to this point. She answered that she was ‘BEE-ing the catalyst’.
I then asked her to say what is the BEE-ing that she will be being from that moment to carry the business into the future. She thought about this a bit longer and then said that she would be “BEE-ing the COO” of the company since she is the one who is most familiar with the requirements of the operation and implementing the structure.
Then she made a declaration of her new BEE-ing and it seemed she had shifted her BEE-ing. It was now time for the recorded interview.
During the interview I came to this point where I asked her again, who she will be BEE-ing to carry the business into the future. This time, however, she had a different answer!
She said: Who I am BEE-ing is the passionate CEO of an exciting growing company!”
When she said it, I thought to myself — did I hear her correctly? Then I let her talk and explain some of how she sees herself as a visionary and how she would take the company forward with her forward thinking ideas. I even fed the statement she made back to her, giving her an opportunity to hear that she had made a new declaration to BEE the CEO! I wondered if she would correct me, however, she just went on and even used the CEO wording again.
After the interview was over, I called her and said, “Do you know what you said is your BEE-ing?”
She said she didn’t really know what she said — and I told her, you said, “You are BEE-ing the CEO!”
She said, “did I REALLY!!!????”
We both laughed about it and I reminded her that you always laugh after you speak a truth like that — then we both laughed again. It was the laugh of recognition that it was the truth for her and also that laugh signaled to me that her BEE-ing had indeed shifted during the conversation.
A Freudian slip? An accident? No way!
A Shift in BEE-ing?
YES!
The true authentic part of you often comes out in the most unexpected ways, however, it is always there ready to be declared. This is the power of declaration that is part of our BEE-ing Attraction process.
Thanks for BEE-ing Attractive!
